I understand that we allow deliveries in the park at all hours of the night. Can we establish delivery hours, such as not after 10 p.m. and not before 6 a.m.?
We enjoy our gated community and the safety it provides. I don’t think hearing a rustling on your front porch at 3 a.m. and finding that a package has been delivered constitutes safety for our residents, especially when it is a personal vehicle delivering the package.
Howdy, neighbor! Vinny here. I can certainly understand why hearing someone rustling around your front porch at 3 a.m. might have you peeking through the blinds with one eye open!
While we want to keep Venture Out safe and peaceful, our residents have all kinds of schedules and needs. Some deliveries may be time-sensitive or important to receive early in the morning, so setting strict delivery hours could create challenges for other residents.
That said, your concern is a fair one, and we’ll keep it in mind as we work to balance convenience, safety, and a good night’s sleep for everyone here at Venture Out.
Speeders are a huge issue within VO. All it will take is one grievous injury or outright fatality to get one of these speeders to finally understand that they aren’t entitled to disobey this rule that the rest of us follow.
Since cars have speedometers, drivers have no excuse for going over 10 mph. Golf cart drivers can’t plead ignorance from not having a speedometer. All they have to do one time is follow behind a friend’s car that’s doing 10 mph and use that “crawling along” sensation as a guide for what it feels like to go too fast.
Will VO management now get this word out in a way that everybody understands?
You’re right about one thing, partner: speeding is something we have to keep talking about. It’s not just a Venture Out problem, either. Communities all across the Valley wrestle with the same issue.
Sadly, Venture Out experienced a fatal accident some years ago. You’d hope a tragedy like that would be enough of a reminder, but we still need everyone to do their part to make sure it never happens again.
Whether you’re behind the wheel of a car, cruising in a golf cart, or riding a bike, slow it down and keep an eye out for your neighbors.
We’ve got plenty of places to hurry off to, but our streets aren’t one of ’em.
