Howdy, neighbors. This week’s trail markers include a friendly nudge to cast your vote, a reminder about parking courtesy, and a quick guide to designated smoking areas around VO. I’ve also sniffed out a local book sale fundraiser worth a visit and rounded things up with a featured read on Pioneer Park, one of Mesa’s most storied landmarks and a fine spot for stretching your legs or taking a trip down memory lane. Saddle up and read on.

Don’t Forget to Vote

This year’s ballot includes some of the most important propositions we’ve seen in a long while. Your voice matters. If you have not received a ballot, please stop by the Admin Office as soon as possible so you can cast your vote. Thanks for looking out for one another and staying involved.

Parking Courtesy

Please do not park on another person’s lot without the owner’s permission. We’ve had reports of this happening while neighbors are away. If you do receive permission to park on someone else’s lot, be sure to notify Patrol so the approval can be properly recorded. A little communication keeps the peace around the den.

Book Sale Fundraiser

Sniffing out a good cause, neighbors. The Mesa Historical Museum is hosting its annual book sale fundraiser, and this old coyote knows a good read when he sees one. Location: 2345 N. Horne Rd, Mesa, AZ 85203

Feb 7 from 8AM to 4PM and Feb 8 from 8 AM to 3 PM.

Swing by, snag a book, and help keep Mesa’s history alive. Vinny approves.

Designated Smoking Areas in VO

If you need to light up, please mosey on over to one of our designated smoking areas so we can all keep the air fresh and the paths clear. You’ll find them at:

  • East end of the Community Center parking lot
  • Hobby Center back wall next to the Sunshine Carvers
  • Woodshop, at the end of the building by the table
  • Maintenance area (please stay clear of the garbage area)
  • Behind the Oasis and Bocce Ball courts at the stone table with an ashtray
  • West of the front gate in the Veterans Garden memorial

Thanks for being considerate of your fellow neighbors. This old desert coyote tips his hat to you.
