As another season winds down and many begin heading out, there’s still plenty happening around the community. From a few important reminders to some well-deserved recognition and updates, here’s what you need to know as we head into the summer months.
Have you lost or misplaced an item?
All items in Lost and Found will be held until May 1st. Any items not claimed by this date will be donated.
The Pet Wash Gate at the Dog Park is open!
Time to rinse off the dust, the mud, and whatever mystery your pup just rolled in.
Weekly Parking Under Solar Panels
Parking is permitted under the Community Center solar panels on a weekly basis. Permits must be updated every seven days with the VO Patrol Chief.
Billiards Teams Take First Place
Congratulations to our Venture Out Billiards teams on an exceptional season. All three men’s teams earned first place, and the women’s team also secured first place. An impressive accomplishment and a great representation of the talent within our community.
Recreation Shops Closing for the Season
April 30th, all recreation shops will close for the season. The exact closure date will be determined by each club.
Summer Parking Restriction
Effective May 1 through September 29, under the solar panels adjacent to the east side of the Community Center, a four-hour summer parking restriction will be in effect.
Before you Leave for the Summer
When you check out for the summer, please take a moment to verify all of your contact information with the front desk. This is especially important as we transition to a single database for all mailings and the printed Resident Directory in the fall.
Hey Vinny!
I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff for always being so friendly, helpful, and making everything so easy. I visit every season, and I always feel so welcome. It really means a lot. See you all next year! Thank you for your thank you. We all work for the common enjoyment and smiles from others!
Answer: Well now, that’s the kind of note that puts a little extra spring in everyone’s step. Thank you for your thank you. Around here, folks take a lot of pride in what they do, and it all comes down to one simple thing, making sure everyone can enjoy their time and leave with a smile.
We’ll keep the porch light on for you. Safe travels, and we’ll see you next season.
Hey Vinny!
Hey Vinny,
What can we do about all these yards that have many many weeds?
We want our units and yards to be neat and well kept. I among others have noticed there are many units with many weeds. My understanding is if an owner does not maintain their property, VO would and charge the owner? Thank you for your attention to this.
Answer: Well now, you’re not wrong to notice it. When the desert starts waking up, those weeds don’t ask permission. They just move right in like they own the place. This is a concern, and adjustments are coming. The goal is to keep the community looking sharp while also making sure things are handled fairly and consistently.
In the meantime, the best thing folks can do is take care of their own space and lend a neighborly nudge when it makes sense. Around here, a little pride and a little teamwork go a long way. We’ll get it back in shape.
Hey Vinny!
Wondering why folks that have moved out of the park are still able to participate in the events and are allowed to drop off their trash at the receptacles?
Answer: That’s a fair question, and one worth taking a closer look at. From where I sit, those kinds of things usually come down to specific situations rather than a wide-open policy.
Is there a particular example of this? That helps the folks in charge sort out what’s actually happening versus what just looks like it might be. Once they’ve got something concrete, it’s a whole lot easier to address it properly.
In the meantime, you can bet no one’s supposed to be getting perks they’re not entitled to. If something’s off, it’ll get straightened out.
