Venture Out Information

In 2015 I retired, bought an RV and began 6 years on the road.  My dog and I traveled from Washington to California and Maine to Florida with all the states in between. I stayed at a few winter resorts similar to Venture Out and found out how much fun and friendship could be found at these types of parks. I bought my unit in January of 2021 at the tail end of the Covid pandemic.  I’m one of the few people that didn’t know anyone when I moved in.  The hard part was meeting new people.  I had to walk up to a lunch or dinner table in the Bistro and ask if I could join.  The answer was always YES and so many friendships began. Currently I spend my time playing board games, cards, water exercise, and reading.  You will find me volunteering in the library and the Activity Office when I am not playing.  For me as a solo person, there are many benefits of living here. My neighbors and I keep an eye on each other, helping where needed whether it is a bowl of chicken soup, a ride to the doctor, or cleaning the gutters. Ten years ago, you would never have convinced me that I would live in a retirement community with a bunch of old people.  Boy was I wrong.  This is one of the best decisions I have made in my life and a great place for my final chapter.
